Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Waterford County Final

16 of Waterford's young entrepreneurs were shortlisted for the Waterford final in the Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) competition 2017 which was held in Dooley’s Hotel.

The three winners were selected from the Waterford shortlist under three categories, ‘Best New Idea', ‘Best Start-up' and ‘Best Established Business'.

South East BIC clients were well represented among the finalists and we are delighted that Robbie Skuse of Kollect won the Best Established category and the Best Entrepreneur overall. Best Start Up went to Anthony Cronin of Flexiwage, another BIC client. 

The competition now in its fourth year is run by Waterford Local Enterprise Office. A €50,000 investment fund is shared among three winners and three runners up; the winners from this final will also go forward to the regional final to battle it out for a place in the prestigious national final.

The winner in ‘Best Start Up’ (Trading less than 18 months) category is: Anthony Cronin (Flexiwage), with Bébhínn McGrath (BÉBHÍNN) as runner up.
The winner in ‘Best Established’ (Trading more than 18 months) category is: Robbie Skuse (Kollect) with Conor Walsh (Encon) as runner up.

The winner in ‘Best Idea’ category is: Marc Power (Mohecan) with Chloe Hehir (Vitaease) as runner up.
