South East BIC client and High-potential start-up Klearcom has raised €800,000 to date and is hoping to raise €4 million in its seed round over the next 18 months.
Klearcom, a Waterford business which tests voicebots used in customer service, is creating 33 new jobs and opening an office in New York.
Found in 2018, the firm currently has 17 staff. It is based in Arc Labs in Waterford city, and also has an office in Ahmedabad in India. Its platform tests voicebots in customer contact centres, ensuring the technology works across different languages.
“The market has been moving towards more automation, with interactive voice response being used by companies to improve efficiencies and handle simple interactions. But voicebots tend to be delivered across a fractured global network, which is problematic. Companies need a way to test them out,” Liam Dunne, co-founder and chief executive, told the Business Post.
Klearcom previously went through the NDRC accelerator programme, where it won the investor showcase before becoming a high potential start-up with Enterprise Ireland. The business has raised €800,000 to date and is hoping to raise €4 million in its seed round over the next 18 months.
“We’ve been fortunate . . . we’ve got amazing market traction and customers. We want to get more growth,” Dunne said, adding that most of the firm’s customers were in North America, across the financial services and pharmaceutical sectors.
“In 12 months’ time, we will have 50 staff and an office opened in New York,” Dunne said. “The supports we’ve got between Enterprise Ireland and the Southeast BIC have been great.”
