Tom Brennan describes how he and Patsy Carney started Eirgen at South East BIC's Incubation Centre and they support they received.
Eirgen is a speciality pharmaceutical company based in Waterford. Using its purpose built high containment facility; the company specialises in the development, registration and manufacture of speciality oncology drug products for global markets. The company now employ 100 highly skilled graduates and export their products from Waterford to over 40 countries.
The multi award winning company was co-founded in 2005 by Patsy Carney and Tom Brennan, both having significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
For the first year, the company incubated at South East BIC’s Incubation Centre, availing of business planning support, sounding board advice, and international networking opportunities.
In May 2015,Eirgen was acquired by US drugs company Opko for $135 million.
