South East BIC host the First StartUp Basecamp

On Thursday 22nd June, the South East BIC team hosted a StartUp Basecamp with the assistance of our colleagues in Kilkenny Local Enterprise Office (LEO).

Our location was the newly refurbed WeDo Workspaces, a fantastic co-working hub for startups and entrepreneurs right in the middle of Kilkenny City.

The purpose of our new StartUp Basecamp is to give entrepreneurs, at the very early stages of their concept development, focus and signposting for next step supports. The entrepreneurs who came had diverse business concepts, from Agtech and Digitalisation solutions to HR & Talent applications.

We covered topics such as:

-Understanding the entrepreneurial mindset: Do you have what it takes?

- Creating a true value proposition: Do you have a solution to a problem?

-Identifying your customer and learning from them: Customer discovery

-Signposting and supports: What is your next step? Highlighting the supports of South East BIC, the Local Enterprise Offices, the New Frontiers Programme etc.

StartUp Basecamp is aimed at entrepreneurs at the start of their journey and is created by South East BIC on behalf of Enterprise Ireland. We loved our time in Kilkenny and look forward to bringing our StartUp Basecamp to another county in the South East in September.
